The power consumption of wall-mounted air conditioners depends on their power, energy efficiency and use. On average, a 2,5 kW device draws from 0,5 to 0,8 kW per hour of operation in cooling mode, which means a cost of around 30–50 groszy per hour (at an electricity price of 60 gr/kWh).
Wall air conditioner per month:
- with moderate use, i.e. approx. 4 hours a day, it consumes approx. 60–100 kWh, which translates into a cost of around PLN 36–60;
- with intensive use, i.e. approx. 8 hours a day, it consumes approx. 120–200 kWh, which generates an expense of PLN 72 to PLN 120.
It's important to know that modern inverter wall-mounted air conditioners adjust their power to current conditions, making them more economical than older models. It's also worth remembering that wall-mounted units with a heating function consume more energy in the winter, but they can still be a cheaper alternative to traditional electric heating.
