Types of air conditioning

Depending on the number of rooms in your company, you can use different types of air conditioning. If your company consists of a single room, you can use split air conditioning. It consists of one outdoor unit and one indoor air conditioner. For larger companies that service multiple rooms, multi-split air conditioning is recommended. In this case, a single system can operate with one outdoor unit, usually connected to up to five indoor air conditioners (an exception are the multi-split air conditioning systems offered by Mitsubishi Electric, where up to eight air conditioning units can operate within a multi-split system). If your company has more rooms, it will be necessary to create more systems or use a facility air conditioning.

Split air conditioning is an excellent solution for small businesses that need to maintain optimal temperatures in a single room. To ensure optimal conditions, it's crucial to choose an air conditioner that's suited to the room's size. We offer air conditioners designed for small rooms as well as those over 50 square meters. It's important to remember that split air conditioning is a cost-effective investment that quickly pays off in terms of increased employee productivity.

If your company is located in several rooms in one building, choose multi-split air conditioning. Importantly, multi-split air conditioning allows the use of up to 5 indoor air conditioners (or 8 units in the case of systems based on Mitsubishi Electric devices). Furthermore, you can use different types of indoor air conditioners within a single system, such as wall-mounted air conditioners, cassettes, duct air conditioners or consoles. Remember that multi-split air conditioning allows for individual control of individual units, which in turn translates into greater comfort of use.

It's worth noting that the location of the outdoor unit is crucial when designing and installing split and multi-split air conditioning systems. The unit is typically mounted outside the building. Depending on the company's location, the outdoor air conditioner is placed on the building's façade or balcony. If the office, commercial facility, or service facility is located on the ground floor, the outdoor air conditioner may be placed against a wall.

If you can't install stationary air conditioning, consider portable air conditioners. These units aren't as efficient as split or multi-split air conditioning, but they allow you to achieve the desired indoor air temperature. Their undoubted advantage is their portability, allowing you to service multiple rooms with a single unit. This solution is recommended for historic buildings where the conservator doesn't approve of them. air conditioning installation or in rented premises where you do not want to invest your own funds for modernization.

Types of air conditioners you can use in your company

Wall air conditioners

Cassette air conditioners

Duct air conditioners

Floor-standing air conditioners

Ceiling air conditioners

Wall-mounted air conditioners are a popular solution for air conditioning in businesses. Their advantage is their extraordinary flexibility in terms of models, power, brands, and functionality. Wall-mounted air conditioners are suitable for offices, small restaurants, and other relatively small spaces. In large rooms, multiple units will be necessary to achieve satisfactory performance. The advantages of wall-mounted air conditioners include their excellent design and efficiency in terms of air purification.

In larger premises, in open-plan spaces, conference rooms or in built-in rooms with an appropriate height, cassettes will be an excellent solution. Cassette air conditioners They provide effective air and temperature distribution across large rooms thanks to four-way or circumferential airflow. The advantage of cassette air conditioners is that they are well-concealed in the suspended ceiling, leaving only the panel visible to users. A significant advantage of cassettes is that they don't take up any space in the room. If you have a large room, you can create a comprehensive system that will effectively serve even a very large area.

Another type of air conditioner commonly used in commercial and business buildings is ducted air conditioners. These units are ideal for cooling and heating long and relatively narrow rooms, such as hallways. Their advantage is that they are completely concealed within the duct, leaving users only visible to the air outlet.

Ceiling air conditioners are common in facilities such as shops. These units are typically located above the entrance to the premises and blow warm or cold air into the space to maintain an optimal interior temperature. These units look great in futuristic and modern interiors, as their industrial design enhances the room's character.

The least common air conditioner in businesses is the console type. These floor-mounted units are mounted at the bottom of the wall and are perfect for unused niches under window sills. These units can be used in small offices, where dual airflow from the top and bottom ensures even temperature distribution. An additional advantage of consoles is the underfloor heating function, which increases comfort.

How to choose air conditioning?

Choice office air conditioning should depend on the expectations and needs of your company. It's worth remembering that air conditioning is perfect for both cooling and heating. If you want to heat your premises using heat pumps Air-to-air air conditioners are designed for heating. They are more efficient and can operate at temperatures as low as -30°C, ensuring effective winter heating throughout Poland.

A crucial parameter of any device is its power, which should be matched to the room. The standard rule of thumb is 1 kW of air conditioning power per 10 m² of space. If the air-conditioned room is exposed to a lot of sunlight, has large windows, or contains electronic equipment (e.g., computers, servers) that generate a lot of heat, consider using air conditioners with a 20-30% higher power output.

For entrepreneurs, costs are key to their business. Therefore, choose energy-efficient and high-performance devices. This will increase your company's competitiveness in the market.

What else is important when choosing air conditioning for your business? Pay attention to the features it offers. Check its control options, air purification level, whether it has an auto restart function, energy-saving features, whether it allows for programming the system's operation, how the airflow works, and so on. These elements form the foundation of user comfort. If you're looking for more advanced equipment, consult air conditioning design and installation specialists for details.

It's worth noting that selecting an air conditioning system for your business should be consulted with an experienced air conditioning designer or installer. An inappropriately selected unit will be unable to provide the desired thermal conditions and will also generate excessive electricity consumption, which translates into higher operating costs.

Advantages of air conditioning in the company

Air conditioning in a company brings many benefits that impact employee comfort and increase work efficiency. Comfortable working conditions translate into improved employee well-being and higher productivity. At the same time, purified air improves employee health, minimizing absenteeism.

Air conditioning in a company also allows for better protection of electronic equipment, including computers, servers, and printers, which prefer a constant temperature and humidity. Furthermore, air conditioning enhances the company's image as a modern entity that cares about the comfort of employees and customers.

Air conditioning purchase and company costs

Can air conditioning be used by a business? As long as the air conditioning was purchased for business purposes, and not for personal use, it can certainly be included in the company's tax-deductible expenses.

Is air conditioning a separate fixed asset? If the purchase and installation of air conditioning is solely for the premises where the business is conducted, and most importantly, the air conditioner is not connected to the air conditioning system of the entire facility (e.g., a large office building), air conditioning can be classified as a company's fixed asset.

How do you account for the purchase of an air conditioner? Most often, the purchase and installation of an air conditioner is treated as a property improvement. Therefore, you can only include it indirectly in your tax-deductible expenses through depreciation. Clients often ask us if an air conditioner is tax-deductible. Only as a tax-deductible expense. It's important to note that the purchase and installation of an air conditioner is not deductible under the thermal modernization tax credit.
